What's Piper Been Doing?

Haven't posted in a few months, but here's what we've been up to since then. Actually, here's what Piper has been up to since then. We'll stop with Christmas, and next time we'll let you know what's been going on in 2013. On to the pictures...

Piper has been spending time with grandfathers...

...and grandmothers...

...and even great grandmothers...

...and great grandfathers...

...aunts...

...soon-to-be uncles...

...mommy and daddy's friends from college...

...her buddy Laken...

...she even went to an engagement party for Aunt C and Uncle Lima!

She went to Georgia for Thanksgiving and met another aunt...

...helped mommy with Christmas ornaments...

...met Santa and Mrs. Claus...

...went to her first Christmas party...

...and had a blast opening presents on her first Christmas morning.

All in all, it was a pretty awesome few months.
(Don't you think, daddy?)

Piper Is Here!

I know it's already been a month, but things have been a little bit crazy around here. Piper was born August 1st at 5:43 pm, weighing in at 9 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. She is absolutely perfect. Here are a few pictures from the hospital:

We look pretty chipper for 4 am, huh?

Mom is still finishing with her c-section, but she's excited to see Piper

Proud dad, running on adrenaline

Just a few minutes old and already posing for the camera

Lot of proud grandparents...

...and lots of excited friends.

Piper's Nursery

Over the last few months we had to channel our inner interior designer to get Piper's nursery ready. We wanted to make sure everything looked great for her, coordinated well with the rest of the house, and didn't break the bank. Let's see how it turned out...

Antique bentwood rocker from the flea market

Antique chest from Ami's great-grandparents (and her college apartment)

Hours and hours of sanding, painting, distressing, and finishing in the garage

Did I mention that it took hours and hours? And hours?

The finished product(s) were worth it. Here's the newly remodeled rocker..

...and chest of drawers.

Beautiful crib courtesy of the Parrish family (and don't forget the custom bedding)

Changing table, baskets, changing pad and mirror

Ready-made bedding is great, but it's just not our style. We searched lots of stores, bought our fabrics, designed the bedding and had a local seamstress create Piper's one-of-a-kind look.

Custom curtains hand-made by Ami (can you see Ty in this picture?)

We really wanted the room to have a neutral base with a few colorful accents

What more could a little girl want?

Baby Brunch

A couple of weekends ago, Tisha Perkins and Heather Kee hosted a baby brunch in Pickwick. Lots of Chi Omegas and a few other special guests enjoyed brunch at Tisha's beautiful home. Thanks to these ladies for being such great friends!
